The Novo Nordisk Foundation grants up to DKK 5.5 billion to life science and deep‑tech incubator Bioinnovation Institute (BII) in Copenhagen.

The funding, which will be provided over a ten‑year period, is intended to enable BII to expand its activities both geographically and strategically, and to support more entrepreneurs and start‑ups. The aim is to strengthen innovation in Denmark and Europe, according to a press release.

Such support is needed, the Novo Nordisk Foundation argues, noting that while Europe conducts world‑class research, it lags behind other regions when it comes to turning discoveries into innovations that create jobs and economic growth.
