We are looking for a Director of Sales, Custom Manufacturing to manage and drive our sales operations within this segment. You will be responsible for sales of a range of existing products at established accounts and this will include all aspects of budgeting, long term planning, contract negotiations, customer relationships and account management. You will play a vital part as the main customer interface and you will develop and maintain customer relationships to ensure a excellent network to provide the basis for future contract manufacturing agreements and new business opportunities. 

As Director of Sales extensive travelling is included in the role, mostly in Europe, but world-wide travelling is also to be expected. You will report to the VP, Sales & Business Development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage customer interface for commercial products at assigned accounts acting as the main contact point for all customer commercial communication.
  • Maintain contact with all clients to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Lead long term negotiations on commercial matters working with legal and operational colleagues to bring contracts to closure.
  • Prepare price proposals.
  • Prepare annual budgets.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support growth of sales and track progress.


  • Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or related field of expertise.
  • 10 years of experience in sales or business development with key account management experience in the custom manufacturing (CMO) market.
  • Globally experienced commercial business manager with significant international expertise.
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience within the pharmaceutical industry, ideally with knowledge of Technical Operations, Manufacturing and Quality
  • Your place of residence is preferably Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö/Copenhagen.

Your business development skills are strong, and you focus on the bottom-line results. You execute plans with commitment and determination and you use a methodical and systematic approach. Your success also depends on the way you manage to cooperate with others, both internally and externally. Moreover you must have a strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
