New large lab building in Lund inaugurated – here are the companies moving in
As Life Science Sweden previously reported, Medicon Village has invested SEK 500 million in a new research building. The building was officially opened last Friday.
– It is a milestone for us at Medicon Village and a crucial piece of the puzzle to ensure that we can offer an innovation environment of the highest international standard, says Petter Hartman, CEO of Medicon Village Innovation, to Life Science Sweden.
He says that the new house is built to respond to the demand expressed by several companies in Medicon Village after growing rapidly.
– The companies' need to expand to new facilites indicates that over time we have created a place where both ideas, capital and people can grow. It also shows that there are companies that dare to invest despite tough times, says Petter Hartman and adds that the new building creates an opportunity to welcome more companies to Medicon Village.
The companies SARomics, Redoxis, Truly Labs, Alligator Bioscience and Cellevate will be the first to move into the new building.
Medicon Village was established in 2012 on the site of the former Astra Draco facilities. In Medicon Village there are 180 life science companies. The new laboratory building has a gross area of 12,500 square meters and has 300-350 workplaces.
