GSK eyes blockbuster potential – plans five new trials

GSK sees blockbuster potential in its experimental drug candidate Mo-rez. Early trial results suggest the treatment may shrink tumours in patients with advanced and hard-to-treat gynaecological cancers.

“Do we think it could be a blockbuster? Yes, absolutely. This is one of our priority assets at the moment,” said Hesham Abdullah, head of oncology R&D at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), at a medical conference in Puerto Rico, Reuters reported.

Mocertatug Rezetecan, or Mo-rez, belongs to the class of antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) and targets the B7H4 protein, which is found on cancer cells but only to a limited extent in healthy tissue. This makes the therapy particularly promising in an area where the need for more precise treatments is significant.
