Life science management for hire

Do you need help getting your biotech company off and running? Camoleon is a new type of consultant that offers help with business and innovation management and sourcing of resources.
Many startups in the biotech field lack business competence. They need help to speed up their businesses. That is the focus of founder Hans Wiech of Camoleon.

Founder Hans Wiech chose the name Camoleon because the chameleon is the only animal with a 360-degree view and eyes that can see in different directions. That is more or less how Camoleon (the spelling is supposed to be adapted to misspellings of Google searches) operates, according to Hans Wiech.

He claims the company works with aspects often missing in research driven start-ups; sales force, marketing, market research and creating business opportunities from the researchers in the company.

– We have a large database of companies in the life science field and can therefore open many doors difficult for these companies to access on their own, says Hans Wiech.

Camoleon was founded
four years ago. Hans Wiech had previously worked at major pharma companies and as a consultant. But he does not like to describe Camoleon as a traditional consultant company.

– I believe the ability to serve existing and new customers in all areas of knowledge process outsourcing – business development, sourcing management, innovation management – makes us a valued and trusted partner in these highly competitive and volatile times, says Hans Wiech.

Many of the companies that Camoleon works with have tried to enter the German market. Some of the first customers were Israeli companies desiring to enter the German and European markets. Hans Wiech claims it is often very difficult for smaller companies to find business partners in other countries and markets. Payment for Camoleon’s services is made in three ways. Research companies with no sales pay a current consultant fee while Camoleon only collects a sales fee for those companies with a product on the market.

– We have also worked for shares of smaller companies. It depends on how I like their innovation. In those companies, we are not only passive shareholders but actively participate in their operations, says Hans Wiech.
